Mass effect x Halo: Prologue

"We're about to arrrive Shepard"
Commander Shepard, recently made the first human spectre, looked up from his data. Whilst in pursuit of Saren a new Mass Relay was discovered. Saren apparently made a blind jump with his ship Sovereign and a small portion of the Geth fleet. Looking through the view screen he could see the Mass Relay. The sight never failed to take his breath away. The superstructure of the great relay dwarfed any ship that came near.
"Everyone prepare yourselves for mass transit." said Shepard over the comms, "I want all of my team to prepare themselves for combat and ready the Mako! We don't know what we'll be facing once we arrive"
As the Normandy approached the relay Joker, the best pilot in the Systems Alliance, activated the cloaking systems.
"Making Mass Transit in Five... Four... Three... Two... One..."

"Chief, we're nearly there"
Spartan John 117, a.k.a. the Master Chief, walked over to the view screen. The UNSC head quaters had discovered that the Covenant, an alliance of various alien species united with one religious goal, were headed in great force to an unexplored region of the galaxy. Deciding that whatever the Covenant found so interesting would have a major effect on the Covenant/Human war, Commander Keyes decided it would be prudent to send MCPO John 117 to investigate along with a small detatchment of ODST's.
"Is that, another Halo ring?"
Master Chief need not have asked the question. The ringworld was unmistakeable. However, the ships in orbit were not all familiar. There were of course the Covenant ships but there were other ships engaging them that were not so familiar.
"Looks like we'll have some new friends to play with" Cortana commented wryly, the AI's systems rapidly scanning the new ships.
"But who's side are they on?" replied Seargeant Avery Johnson
"Incoming ship!" warned Cortana, "But those speeds! Thats impossible!"
